Controller, Management, Financial Manager

We are looking for a highly experienced and dynamic Controller to join our team. This role is essential for overseeing our accounting operations, implementing process improvements, and ensuring financial efficiency. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in non-profit organizations, preferably within educational, fine arts, performing arts, or cultural institutions. This position offers a unique opportunity to lead a stable team and drive significant change within our organization.

This position is hybrid with 1-2 days remote, depending on the week. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting base salary $160,000 to $180,000 per year.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and financial reporting.
• Collaborate with HR, IT, and Facilities to ensure seamless financial operations.
• Implement process improvements and efficiency measures to enhance financial operations.
• Develop and manage budgets in collaboration with the Director of Budgets.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to the accounting team, including two direct reports.
• Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and standards.
• Prepare and present financial reports to senior management and the board of directors.
• Lead change management initiatives to improve financial processes and systems.
• Support succession planning and be prepared to step in for senior leadership as needed.

Experience:

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in accounting, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
