Become a key leader in Alvarez & Marsal’s Private Equity Performance Improvement (PEPI) practice. As a Manager of Operations & Manufacturing, you will oversee large, complex engagements for private equity portfolio companies, delivering cost‑reducing and value‑adding solutions across manufacturing, supply chain, and commercial operations.
Responsibilities- Gain a comprehensive understanding of a target’s manufacturing and distribution operations—organization design, production capacity, efficiency, quality, planning, warehousing, and team capability.
- Evaluate the maintainability and operability of production facilities.
- Review historical and current data to assess efficiency and capacity, including equipment conditions, maintenance logs, spare parts inventory, and detailed production numbers.
- Provide shop‑floor insights by engaging with employees and customers and reviewing all available data.
- Identify potential cost‑improvement opportunities through lean initiatives, outsourcing, or facility consolidation.
- Develop transformation plans to drive proposed changes, and identify key risks and mitigation strategies.
- Implement and oversee quality of deliverables, managing the team and day‑to‑day relationships to ensure exceptional performance.
- 7–10+ years of professional experience, with a minimum of 4 years in manufacturing and/or distribution functions.
- Deep functional expertise in one or more of the following: supply‑chain operations, manufacturing operations (SI&OP), footprint optimization, plant consolidation, product line transfer, manufacturing strategy, Cap Ex planning, Manufacturing 4.0/IIoT, lean, Six Sigma, TOC, or value engineering.
- Demonstrated track record working with C‑suite executives and private equity deal and operating partners.
- Excellent fact‑gathering, business‑process mapping, and quantitative analysis skills.
- Previous strategy and change‑management experience.
- MBA a plus.
Salary range: $125,000–$190,000 annually, dependent on education, experience, and geography. A&M offers a discretionary bonus program based on individual and firm performance. Full‑time positions include access to comprehensive healthcare plans, a 401(k) retirement plan with employer contributions, paid time off, and parental leave. Travel is expected for client engagements.
