Assistant Bindery Production Operator – 1st Shift

Base Pay Range18.50 ¢ /hr – 19.50 ¢ /hr
Summary: The Bindery Production Assistant helps the Bindery Operator with setup, adjustment, and safe operation of bindery equipment such as MBO folders, Heidelberg/Stahl folders, and 6‑pocket Muller Martini‑Presto saddle stitchers to produce quality finished products that meet customer specifications and quality standards.
Schedule: 1st shift:
Monday‑Friday, eight or more hours per day, five days per week based on business needs. Primary schedule will be 5:00 AM – 1:30 PM, Monday – Friday, or similar. Training may occur at other times.
Compensation: Commensurate with experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Check paper sheet size/type and verify required materials.
- Assist with preparing next jobs to be printed.
- Assist with press maintenance tasks and cleaning.
- Support the Lead Press Operator by completing tasks as directed to keep the press running.
- Actively remove waste items for recycling.
- Complete and maintain all required paperwork, records, and documents.
- Ensure all equipment, tools, and workstations are in good working order and free of safety hazards.
- Report workplace hazards to management immediately.
- Wear all assigned personal protective equipment (PPE) when required.
- Report all work‑related injuries, illnesses, and/or near misses to management immediately.
- Keep all work area/station in compliance with housekeeping guidelines.
- Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations.
- Maintain departmental housekeeping standards, such as keeping floors swept and free of debris that may be a work hazard.
- Regularly perform general housekeeping duties in your work area(s).
- Adhere to all safety policies and protocols and maintain a safe working environment.
- Attend all department/company meetings.
- Other duties as assigned.
- 1 year’s experience in a fast‑paced production or manufacturing environment.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalency.
