Material Handler- 3rd Shift at Industrial Metal Supply Co.
Industrial Metal Supply Co. (IMS) is a leading metals distributor with seven locations serving California and Arizona. IMS cares about the day-to-day experience of every employee. Material Handlers are integral to the success of our business and involve pulling, packing and wrapping metal bar, sheet, plate and tube for customers in our will call department.
Responsibilities- Safety is the company’s number one priority; maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
- Complete a detailed 7-week onboarding program with hands-on experience across all departments and shifts.
- Learn and use our business software to pull inventory and process orders.
- Ensure customer material quality through attentive handling and adherence to our Quality System.
- Pull, pack, and wrap material; verify material dimensions with tape measures, calipers, or micrometers as requested.
- Fulfill multiple orders daily in a fast-paced environment; move material with a forklift and lift up to 50 pounds repetitively.
- Follow safety and compliance procedures, wear required PPE, and maintain a clean work area.
- Report safety hazards or incidents promptly and follow proper lifting and material handling techniques; comply with environmental regulations related to material handling and storage.
- Must be 18 years or older.
- 6 months to 1 year of material handling experience preferred in a metal manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team; good communication and interpersonal skills.
