Position Summary
Building upon level one, level two deburr operators work with minimal assistance to perform all levels of hand finishing tasks such as edge breaking and employing a number of different deburr tools and media to achieve specified surface finishes on a number of different materials. This requires basic print reading competencies, an intermediate understanding of different deburr media uses, as well as an intermediate understanding and familiarity with customer specifications such as BAC
5700. Level two deburr operators also demonstrate the ability to use a number of inspection tools, such as micrometers, calipers, profilometers, etc. 1-5 Years of Exp.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Reads blueprint or job order and tooling instructions for specifications.
- Lifts work piece manually places it in fixture or jig or on machine table and secures it with clamps or holds it in position.
- Selects proper deburring wheel for type of material and mounts to motor.
- Verifies conformance of machined work pieces to specifications.
- Removes burrs and assure proper finish to work piece
- Works on various types of metallic materials.
- Trains others in Deburring operations

Mathematical SkillsAbility to add, subtracts, multiply, and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Computer SkillsTo perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of basic computer use. Applicant should be familiar with machining methods.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
Physical Requirements- Occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds
- Frequently work near heavy machinery or equipment
- Demands of a manufacturing environment
4 years minimum experience in aerospace/automotive machining or related industry. Intermediate knowledge on machining methods. Background knowledge of AS9100 quality systems.
Level of EducationHigh school diploma/GED equivalent required. A minimum of at least 1-year experience in industry or related field.
