Job Description

Eaton’s IS AER FMC division is currently seeking an Assembler/Tester A (Repair and Overhaul) 2nd shift.

The hourly range for this position is $28.00–$35.40 per hour, with a general starting rate of $30.00. Second‑shift hours are 1:45 pm–10:15 pm. Salaries are based on candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

What You’ll Do

• Assemble, teardown, and test routine mechanical assemblies, subassemblies, and top assemblies of simple to most complex product line that includes commercial and military.
• Report to the Production Supervisor/Manager in CSO and receive direction from department lead.
• Perform lock wire/safety wire and nameplate.
• Conduct visual inspection, identify any defective items and handle according to established procedures.
• Organize data, prepare test reports, and perform in‑process testing and final acceptance test procedures.
• Use a range of hand tools (pliers, wrenches, screwdrivers, arbor press, vises, soldering iron, depth micrometers, calipers, lockwire pliers, dial indicators, pressure gauges, flow meters, multimeters, test boxes or specialized test equipment).
• Interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, testing schematics, verbal, and/or written instructions.
• Prepare materials, including lapping of surfaces with proper tooling techniques and compounds.
• Perform cross training when required and proactively identify and assist in process improvements.
• Conduct in‑person testing as required.
• Retrieve items from stockroom and act as department representative in customer audits/visits.
• Adhere to operational procedures, ensure tooling is calibrated before use, and maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Other duties as assigned and be temporarily reassigned to cover workload in other areas of production as necessary.

Minimum Education Required

High School/GED

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Minimum of 4 years experience in assembly and testing of hydraulic and electromechanical actuators.
• Working knowledge of hydraulic test equipment.
• No relocation benefit; candidates must reside within 50 miles of Los Angeles.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
• Position requires use of information or access to hardware subject to ITAR; all applicants must be U.S. persons.
• Eaton will consider applicants with criminal histories consistent with FCIHO.

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 years assembly and test experience in aerospace manufacturing.
• Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) certification.
• Associate’s degree in a technical field.
• Soldering experience.
• A&P License.
• Experience working in an FAA environment.
