General Description:
Responsible for operating power plant equipment including but not limited to:
Boiler, wastewater treatment and water softener equipment. Responsibility includes performing preventative maintenance, cleaning, repair, adjustment and lubrication as well as modification of plant equipment and compounding mix tanks and ancillary equipment.
Specific Responsibilities & Duties:
- Operates and maintains all power plant related equipment, including but not limited to: boiler, wastewater, high pressure water, iodine and water softening equipment
- Monitors boiler make-up water, steam, condensate, tower water, air and gas pressure and all respective gauges/instrumentation. Also, this includes diagnosing complex equipment failures.
- Cleans, inspects and maintains the power plant, wastewater plant, water softeners and other related equipment.
- Maintains daily work reports/logbooks, including performance logs for the boiler, gas consumptions, water treatment, chemical usage, wastewater streams and other ancillary equipment.
- Maintains inventory of lubricants. Reports shortages in parts, lubricants, chemicals, and supplies and works with purchasing personnel for quick replacement.
- Performs scheduled PM work as directed by the MP2 scheduling system.
- Perform “full-Factory startups and shutdowns, including boiler, wastewater systems, air compressors, HVAC and other related facility equipment
- Performs related duties or projects as assigned.
- Must be willing to work on any of the 2 shifts, and available for OT when necessary.

Physical Requirements :
- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Capable of standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods.
- Must be able to work on ladders, scaffolds and in pits.
- Must be able to work with drawings, schedules, service manuals and similar documents. Performs routine paperwork and record keeping. Must be able to start, stop and run all power plant equipment which includes: shop equipment, production equipment, typical mechanic’s tools, and inspection gags, ladders and gages properly.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Boiler License from the county (Unlimited)
- 5 years of experience
- Process manufacturing environment
- Moderate to heavy traffic including forklifts
