Eaton’s IS AER FMC division is currently seeking an Assembler A for the 1st Shift (5:30 am – 2:00 pm). The hourly rate is $23.92 – $35.88 (approximately $25.88 per hour).
What You’ll Do- Assemble routine mechanical assemblies, subassemblies, and top assemblies of mild to most complex product lines, including commercial parts for customers such as Boeing, Embraer, Gulfstream, Cessna, and Airbus. May occasionally work on electrical assemblies and solder.
- Perform lock wire/safety wire and nameplate operations.
- Proactively identify best practices.
- Utilize hand tools such as pliers, wrenches, screwdrivers, arbor press, vises, soldering iron, depth micrometers, calipers, lockwire pliers, and dial indicators.
- Interpret blueprints, verbal, and/or written instructions.
- Perform cross‑training when required.
- Prepare materials, including lapping of surfaces with proper tooling techniques and compounds.
- Perform visual inspections, identify defective items, and handle them per established procedures.
- Adhere to operational procedures; ensure tooling is calibrated before use.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area; comply with all safety rules and regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned; may be temporarily reassigned to cover workloads in other production areas.
- Overtime may be required to meet business needs; overtime work is expected as requested.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of two (2) years of assembly experience in a manufacturing, aerospace, or military environment.
- No relocation benefit is offered; only candidates residing within 50 miles of the Los Angeles, CA facility will be considered.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
- Position requires use of information or hardware subject to International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons under ITAR.
- Eaton will consider qualified applicants with criminal histories in a manner consistent with the FCIHO.
- Minimum of 2 years prior assembly experience in aerospace industry.
- Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) certification.
- Experience working in FAA environment.
- Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work from written and verbal instructions.
- Understanding of blueprints.
- Computer proficiency.
- Attention to detail.
- Willingly perform repetitive tasks while sitting or standing for extended periods.
- Sitting, standing, walking, squatting.
- Pulling frequently, reaching frequently.
- Lifting/Caring: knees, waist.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (group lifts over 35 lbs).
