Job Overview
Performs work as part of a team in an industrial laundry facility. Responsible for the safe, expeditious, and accurate handling of merchandise into and/or out of the laundry facility.
Responsibilities- Stage and feed merchandise (towels, napkins, table clothes, aprons, etc.) on ironer to reduce wrinkling and tangling.
- Receive and fold merchandise from ironer.
- Identify and segregate merchandise not meeting specified quality standards (rips, tears, holes, stains).
- Accurately verify merchandise quantity and bundle by type.
- Place bundles in correct storage carts and maneuver full and empty carts.
- Maintain a safe, clean work environment and observe best practices in all production activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- Basic math skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to meet attendance schedule.
Work is performed in a warehouse setting and is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions, extreme heat and cold, dust, and noise. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. The position requires repetitive motions over the duration of an entire shift (bending, reaching, pulling, twisting, and lifting), the use of hands for grasping and other manipulations, standing and walking for long periods, and the ability to push carts weighing approximately 300 lbs.
CompensationThe hourly rate that Vestis reasonably expects to pay for this position ranges from $19.34, depending on circumstances including an applicant’s skills and qualifications, certain degrees and certifications, prior job experience, market data, and other relevant factors.
