Aerospace Manufacturing Engineer

As a Manufacturing Engineer with PPGs Aerospace Business working onsite at our Sylmar manufacturing facility you will support transformational projects in transparency assembly. This entry-level role combines Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering principles to improve processes, resolve manufacturing issues and grow Sylmar's commercial transparencies program. Reporting directly to the Commercial Production Manager, Final Assembly you will have a hands‑on with Lean manufacturing processes and collaborate across teams and with production staff.

This role will be onsite in our Sylmar, CA facility.

• Optimize and grow manufacturing processes and transition to a single piece flow pull system for the site commercial final assembly area.

• Redefine routings, labor standards, work instructions, and tooling requirements.

• Evaluate and disposition non-conforming materials in manufacturing process.

• Apply Lean tools (e.g., value stream mapping, time studies) to improve throughput and efficiency.

• Collaborate to resolve production issues and lead strategic improvements.

• Lead ergonomic projects to enhance employee safety and comfort.

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, or related Engineering discipline required.

• 1+ years of relevant manufacturing experience (internships/co‑ops included).

• The ability to create clear work instructions for non‑technical audiences.

• Proficiency in MS Office; experience with Excel, Power BI, Minitab, or databases.

• Comfortable working both in office and on the production floor.

• The salary range for this position will be $80,000 - $100,000.
