Media Strategist (Beauty & Wellness)
Drip Comm is growing! We are looking for Media Strategists (Beauty & Wellness) in LA & NYC to support the day-to-day earned media efforts and creative campaign work for our beauty, and wellness clients.
As a Media Strategist, you’ll be helping to execute key PR initiatives for clients within the beauty, lifestyle and wellness space. You’ll manage media relations for integrated programs and creative PR stunts. Drafting creative media strategies, press materials, pitching and reporting on results.
Qualified applicants should possess:
- 4 years’ experience working in PR/media relations in the beauty and wellness space
- A comprehensive understanding of the media landscape and media strategy
- Experience executing and landing feature coverage for PR Stunts and out-of-the-box campaign initiatives
- A proven track record of delivering high-quality stories both product and long-form features in print, online, podcast, social and broadcast
- Critical thinking and analytical skills to produce strategic campaign reporting and learnings
- Stellar grammatical / writing skills and attention to detail
- Experience with affiliate PR/marketing
- Familiarity with tools and platforms like Muck Rack, Cision, PR Newswire, G-Suite, Excel, Awin, Skimlinks
- A portfolio of recent press wins including feature articles and strategic round-ups
Key responsibilities include:
- Media Outreach/Pitching:
- Manage the ongoing news engine
- Draft press materials (FAQs, fact sheets, press releases, pitches, media/PR plans etc.)
- Proactively pitch media, focusing on both product and feature stories
- Ideating creative pitch angles and creating opportunities to insert clients into cultural conversation
- Engaging with key media to build relationships (IRL via cocktails, or virtually via zoom coffee dates, etc.)
- Media list building and research
- Tracking & reporting on coverage
- Applying to editorial awards
Creative Strategy:
- Partnering with leadership to develop & brainstorm creative strategy and execute high-level media campaigns, events and product launches
What You’ll Bring:
- Proactive pop culture stan
- Excited to build relationships with clients, colleagues, and media
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in relevant field
- Minimum 4-5 years’ dedicated experience in PR, working as part of an integrated agency team (IAT) a plus
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Strong communicator, creative thinker, and advanced writer
- Strong network of media contacts
- Familiarity with tools and platforms like QWOTED, HARO, Muck Rack, Cision, PR Newswire, G-Suite, Excel
