Men’s Health Foundation is seeking leaders, particularly those who identify as African American or Latino, to join our Board of Directors, as we strive to ensure our leadership reflects the diverse communities we serve. As we grow our presence in South Los Angeles, we are expanding our Board to ensure it reflects the racial, cultural, and lived experiences of the communities we serve.

This is about more than compliance, it’s about commitment to health equity in your community. We’re building a Board that is mission-driven and community-rooted, where patients, advocates, and local leaders actively shape our vision for health equity.

As we navigate one of the most critical chapters in healthcare, your leadership, perspective, and lived experience are essential. Help guide a movement reimagining care for all men, especially those too often left behind.

About Men’s Health Foundation:

MHF is a healthcare provider where exceptional care is delivered with cultural competency to meet individual needs. Serving Los Angeles with locations in West Hollywood and South Los Angeles, Men’s Health Foundation provides sexual health services, primary care, mental health support, with a mission to fight health inequity helping men live longer and happier lives. MHF also operates its own Pharmacy and Laboratory, contributing to a comprehensive care model focused on the evolving needs of our community.

Who We’re Looking For:

As a healthcare provider predominantly serving African American, Latino, and other underrepresented communities in West and South Los Angeles, we seek board members who bring lived experience and cultural understanding aligned with these diverse populations:

• Current, former or prospective patients of MHF (for patient-designated seats in accordance with HRSA)
• Deeply rooted in the community, either personally or professionally
• Passionate about health equity and social justice
• Willing to serve, listen, and lead in alignment with our mission

The ideal Board Member brings:

• Strategic & Visionary Leadership - Champion transformative initiatives with expertise in healthcare, public health, pharma, or philanthropy to strategically drive our mission forward.
• Fundraising & Financial Stewardship - Leverage networks to secure critical resources, demonstrate financial stewardship, and contribute or attract significant philanthropic support.
• Community & Advocacy Engagement - Elevate our mission on local and national stages while bringing diverse perspectives and lived experiences that deepen our work and expand our impact.

Professional background in healthcare, advocacy, education, faith-based leadership, or nonprofit governance is welcome—but lived experience matters just as much.

What Board Members Do:

• Serve a 2-year term (renewable)
• Attend monthly Board meetings (in person or virtual)
• Participate in various committees based on interest and skill
• Support MHF’s mission through ambassadorship, fundraising, and strategic guidance
