Position: Volunteer: Empower Health Access for LA Communities

As a faith-based organization, Queens Care provides, directly and in collaboration with others, accessible quality healthcare for low‑income individuals and families residing in Los Angeles County.

Queens Care is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization originally founded by the Franciscan Sisters of Sacred Heart, whose mission of compassion and accessible healthcare continues today. Queens Care provides screening, treatment, education, and preventive and direct care to Los Angeles area residents in need. Beyond that, we also give charitable grants to other non‑profits making a difference in the City of Angels and fund scholarships for those entering medical fields with an interest in working in underserved communities.

Queens Care’s Volunteer Program provides an opportunity to participate in projects, programs and events in support of families and communities of Los Angeles County. Queens Care is a creative, forward‑looking, faith‑based, nonprofit organization. Our community‑based programs are dedicated to serving low‑income families throughout Los Angeles County. We are committed to providing high‑quality care and offer numerous services including community outreach, primary care, mobile programs, hospitalization, and pastoral care

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Complete an application through our website.
  • Undergo required clearances including health assessments and comprehensive background checks.
  • Sign a Volunteer Waiver and Release Form.
Volunteer Expectations
  • Maintain confidentiality of all sensitive information.
  • Adhere to Queens Care’s codes of conduct, demonstrating respect, professionalism, and integrity.
  • Volunteers determine their own schedules in coordination with the volunteer supervisor.
Training and Supervision

Volunteers will receive initial and ongoing training provided by our Community Engagement Outreach Coordinator covering:

  • General orientation on Queens Care's mission and policies.
  • Specific knowledge and skills related to volunteer assignments.
