Job Title: Resident Coordinator – Meadow at Melrose (Part‑Time)

Reports To: The Meadow at Melrose Housing Supervisor

Schedule: Saturday‑Sunday (3:00 pm‑11:30 pm)

Location: Los Angeles, CA

Status: Part‑time, 16 hrs/week, Non‑Exempt

Cell Phone: Reimbursement for use

Driver Position: Yes (see driving policy below)

Safe Place for Youth is the leading service provider for youth experiencing or at‑risk of homelessness in West Los Angeles. The Resident Coordinator will be responsible for general oversight of the property, cleanliness, safety, crisis responses, and conflict management. The Resident Coordinator will also work closely with the Resident Coordinator of Radio House, another Roots to Grow transitional living site in Mar Vista, and will report to the Transitional Housing Supervisor. This position requires evening and weekend hours.

• Daily house and property inspection to maintain curb appeal and resident safety
• Maintain adequate inventory and storage of program supplies, including snacks and materials for activities, cleaning supplies, laundry soaps, office supplies, etc.
• Assist with program intakes and exits, including preparing intake packets and the youth’s living space
• Coordinate and ensure meal support in the program (e.g., food pantry donations)
• Report all issues concerning resident health and safety, maintenance or other areas of concern to appropriate managers and track outcomes
• Interact with and build relationships with program residents, supporting resident success, problem‑solving and enforcing house rules, and providing crisis response and conflict resolution
• Communicate emerging and outstanding issues to the Housing Programs Manager in a timely manner and work closely with case managers to resolve them
• Coordinate volunteers providing services on site
• Create and make available resource lists and other information to support residents in accessing needed amenities in the neighborhood
• In coordination with SPY program team members, coordinate and implement on‑site educational, life‑skills, and healing arts programs offered by staff, community partners or other volunteers
• Assist in the preparation of required program reports
• Drive SPY vehicles to transport residents to services and community activities
• Work within established legal and ethical guidelines
• Ability to work nights/weekends
• Other duties as assigned to support the mission of the organization

• Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, or a related field is preferred; related work or lived experience will be strongly considered in lieu of or in addition to a degree
• 2+ years of experience providing direct services to high‑risk transition‑age youth is preferred
• Working knowledge of child and adolescent social, emotional, and cognitive development, trauma‑informed care, and harm‑reduction service model is required
• A commitment to and passion for the mission, vision, values, and culture of SPY; a self‑starter prepared to drive innovative solutions within the organization
