Position Summary:
The Manager, Annual Giving will support the activities of an Annual Giving Team that is responsible for raising 7M+ through donors giving $1-$14,999 annually within the Philanthropy Department of the LA Phil.
Position Elements:
- Assist the Annual Giving team in planning and executing benefits for 13,000+ membership supporters giving $75-$14,999 annually including invitational rehearsals, ticket premiums, special thank you gifts, guided tours, etc.
- Work collaboratively with the Associate Director to manage the strategy, development, and implementation of special projects like Club 101, Giving Tuesday, Your Name Under the STARS and other initiatives as needed
- Monitor program results and provide ongoing analysis and evaluation of solicitation programs
- Serve as a key annual giving team member in execution of the Donor Valet Parking program at the Hollywood Bowl with a special focus on streamlining processes both internal and external
- Manage collection and compilation of seating upgrade requests for Hollywood Bowl subscribers, assisting in prioritizing requests based on donor giving history and other key indicators
- In collaboration with Philanthropy Operations leverage data insights from Tessitura and build targeted prospect lists to identify, cultivate, and engage new and existing donors
- Manage a modest portfolio of mid-level donors to deepen relationships and support the major gift pipeline
- Maintain detailed records of donor interactions and outreach efforts in Tessitura
- Conduct fundraising calls to various membership levels, donors, and prospects to deepen relationships with mid-level supporters, and close gifts to meet fundraising goals
- Manage and grow monthly giving program through retention metrics, personalized communications, and upgrade strategies
- Respond to donor inquiries received via email and the Friends phone line
- Support Associate Director with strategy and day to day management of telefunding, direct mail, email and web campaigns, including data pulls, analytics, campaign strategy plans as needed
- Assist with other duties and projects as assigned

Minimum Requirements
Position Requirements:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in non-profit development, preferably in the arts
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a fundraising position
- Ability and confidence to interact with varied constituencies via email and over the phone
- Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications (especially Excel)
- Experience with Tessitura or similar database as fundraising tool
- Excellent organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail
- Strong planning skills including the ability to anticipate tasks, set priorities, meet deadlines and function smoothly under strict deadlines and shifting priorities
- Strong collaboration skills and demonstrable ability to work as part of a team when needed or as single contributor
- Availability and willingness to work concerts and donor events on evenings and weekends throughout the year
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Absolute discretion in the handling and maintenance of confidential donor files
