ResponsibilitiesAs a Clinical Nurse III in the GI Oncology Clinic you will deliver direct care to assigned adult and/or geriatric patients in an ambulatory setting. You will educate patients about their diagnosis, treatment plans and side‑effect management, triage patient messages and prioritize responses, collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, assist in scheduling treatments and follow‑up appointments, monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as necessary.
A strong knowledge of GI Oncology, particularly chemotherapy regimens, is preferred.
- Assess appropriately patient care needs and learning needs in routine adult and geriatric populations.
- Demonstrate ability to detail pertinent nursing assessment, including physical and psycho‑social findings on all assigned patients.
- Prioritize identified patient care problems within assigned patients and assume responsibility for problem resolution, using all resources as appropriate.
- Plan patient care and education based on disease process, anticipated patient outcomes, complications of treatment, and psycho‑social needs in collaboration with team members.
- Initiate and follow through with appropriate referrals to other interdisciplinary healthcare colleagues and providers.
- Demonstrate knowledge of principles of growth and development throughout the lifespan to competently provide care to patients.
- Utilize effective time management to complete all assignments in a timely manner to ensure safety of patients.
- Demonstrate competency in use of technical skills as required (i.e., IV therapy equipment utilization, universal precautions, body mechanics).
- Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) monitoring to maintain or improve care of designated patient population.
Education:
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program required.
- Bachelor's of Science in Nursing preferred.
Experience:
- A minimum of 3 years of acute care nursing experience required.
- Oncology nursing experience highly preferred.
License/
Certifications:
- Current, unrestricted California State RN License required.
- BLS from the American Heart Association required.
- OCN certification or willingness to obtain one within 1 year from start date.

BenefitsOffer includes 8‑hour days and a $10,000 sign‑on bonus. Base pay ranges from $58.96 to $94.34 per hour.
