Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Director of Clinical Operations, the Sr. LVN coordinates patient flow, assists the lead LVN with staffing adjustments, and performs associated nursing services. Responsibilities include checking in patients, interviewing patients, taking vital signs, medication reconciliation, completing intake questionnaires, recording services in patient charts, and uploading scans.
The Sr. LVN interacts with staff, patients, faculty and residents to maximize patient care, patient satisfaction and physician satisfaction. Administrative duties include coordinating and monitoring LVN/medical assistant staff, adjusting daily staffing to maintain efficient operations, ensuring Joint Commission standards are met, monitoring the medical staff, maintaining facility upkeep, managing clinical supplies, distributing mail, and stocking exam rooms.
Participation in the Quality Assurance process and maintenance of professional standards are required. Spanish/English translation for providers is provided as needed.
Job QualificationsRequired:
- Possession of current BCLS certification
- IV certification
- Experience working with a neurological patient population
- Excellent blood withdrawal skills
- Ability to accurately screen and triage acute patients
- Working knowledge of abnormal laboratory values
- Ability to recognize and intervene in emergency situations
- Skill in using medical diagnostic equipment and related instruments and supplies for clinical procedures and physical examinations
- Ability to elicit pertinent clinical information and make appropriate assignments per guidelines
- Ability to accept direction from administration and act promptly
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with patients, peers, physicians and administrators
- Skill in listening perceptively, conveying awareness and responding to patients and visitors with gratitude and discretion
- Ability to interact diplomatically and sympathetically with patients, families, and the public in a high-volume setting
- Skill in performing tasks under frequent interruptions and/or distractions while accepting changing priorities and deadlines
- Ability to maintain composure in the face of resistance, indifference and hostility
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion and judgment

Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
