Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) – Aveanna Healthcare

Pay Rate: $30-33 per hour.
Position Overview: The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN) provides skilled nursing care and documentation under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, following care plans and physician orders while maintaining confidentiality and professional boundaries.

- Active, unencumbered California LVN license
- Current CPR certification with hands‑on component
- TB skin test – 2 step (current within last 12 months)
- One year of prior hands‑on nursing experience
- Reliable transportation
- Proficiency in clinical assessments, documentation, and compliance with nursing care policies
- Continuing education as required by state
- Deliver and coordinate quality patient care per physician orders
- Continuously observe and assess patient condition, reporting changes appropriately
- Document all activities, assessments, nursing actions, and care coordination promptly
- Participate in, implement, and update nursing care plans
- Take appropriate nursing action based on assessment to achieve expected outcomes
- Recognize changes in patient needs and implement interventions to prevent or reduce risk
- Comply with Aveanna policies, state and federal regulations, accrediting bodies, and the Nurse Practice Act
- Utilize infection control measures to protect staff and patients per OSHA standards
- Educate patients and families regarding disease processes, self‑care, and prevention strategies
- Maintain competency through educational programs, EUL, and skill evaluations
- Graduate of an accredited nursing school
- Current, unrestricted state license as a Licensed Nurse in the state of practice
- Current CPR certification
- Demonstrated proficiency in clinical assessments, documentation, and compliance with nursing care policies
- South Carolina – One year of pediatric experience
- California – One year of experience working under current nursing license
- Louisiana – One year of experience working as a licensed nurse
- Continuing education as required by state
- Six months of recent experience as a Licensed Nurse in a clinical care setting
- Home health experience
- Attention to detail

- Effective problem‑solving and conflict resolution
- Good organization and communication skills
- Speak, write, read, and understand English
- Travel
- Lift 50 pounds
- Reposition patients and move equipment without assistance
- Prolonged walking, standing, bending, kneeling, reaching, twisting
- Sit and climb stairs
- Visual and hearing acuity
- Strong sense of smell and touch
- Respond physically and mentally to emergency situations in the home or during transport
- Function in a variety of environments that may involve exposure to allergens and other conditions
- Possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and infectious diseases
