CNA – Certified Nursing Assistant / 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM
Join our team at Hollenbeck Palms! We are hiring a full‑time Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our Skilled Nursing department.
Job Purpose: Provide direct resident care under the supervision of the Charge Nurse. The CNA follows established policies and procedures while coordinating resident care with other facility personnel.
Sign‑On Bonus: This position qualifies for a sign‑on bonus of up to $1,100.
Schedule:
- 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM
- Rotating schedule
- Full‑time

Qualifications:
- CNA licensed by the State of CA
- CPR & First‑Aid Certification
- Clear criminal background with DOJ and FBI
- Ability to work in a healthcare setting with the senior population
Job Tasks:
- Receives report and assignments.
- Grooming and bathing patients with low mobility.
- Prepares each patient room with necessary items like blankets, pillows, medical equipment and bathroom needs.
- Helps patients eat and take medications.
- Ensures regular meals and proper medication dosages.
- Monitors vitals and patient behavior and reports them to the nursing and medical staff.
- Assists patients with mobility needs, transferring them from wheelchair to bed.
- Turns or adjusts patients in bed to prevent bedsores or other discomfort.
- Reports immediately to Charge Nurse any unusual conditions of residents.
- Keeps bedside and over‑bed tables clean and uncluttered; keeps side rails clean.
- Walks ambulatory residents to the dining room, bathroom, or other requested locations every two hours.
- Ensures all residents receive nourishment at indicated times.
- Charts on all residents, including a narrative note about the activity and progress for the day.
- Other duties as assigned by the Charge Nurse, Supervisor, and/or Director of Nursing Services.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift 50 pounds; may involve lifting up to 100 pounds using proper mechanics and/or assistive devices.
- Ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry patients.
- Use abdominal and lower back muscles over time without fatigue.
- Stand for extended periods.
- Bend, stoop, stretch, twist, sit, and reach.
- Fine motor skills.
- Visual acuity.
