Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery

Los Angeles, CA | Acute Care

Contract | Night Shift | 4x12-Hour Shifts | 19:00–07:30

• Provide nursing care across a full-service Labor and Delivery unit including triage, LDR, OR, NICU, and post-partum settings, serving low- and high-risk OB patients
• Perform sterile vaginal exams and manage high-risk obstetric patients
• Apply external fetal monitoring; recognize and treat abnormal fetal heart rate patterns using AWHONN Advanced fetal monitoring standards and the CMQCC Category II algorithm
• Circulate for C-section procedures
• Document and communicate using SBAR, Omnicell, eMD Allscripts, and Epic EMR
• Care for a patient population that includes neonates, adolescents, and adults

• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery RN experience required
• Active California RN license required at time of submission
• Epic EMR experience required
• Recent hands-on experience performing sterile vaginal exams, managing high-risk patients, and advanced fetal monitoring
• Knowledge of the CMQCC Category II algorithm
• Required certifications: AHA BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Advanced
• Must pass an onsite Advanced EKG exam (20 questions, 17 rhythm strips, 3 general questions; 80% minimum passing score; two attempts permitted; 45-minute time limit)
• Must be able to work most holidays; no more than 3 days of RTO for the full 13-week assignment; no RTO during the first two weeks
• Smoke/nicotine-free facility; must arrive free of tobacco odor
• Local candidates accepted at the travel rate

• Experience working in a high-volume, combined low- and high-risk Labor and Delivery environment
• Familiarity with Omnicell and eMD Allscripts systems
• Comfort working alongside OB hospitalists and OB anesthesia teams

• First-time travelers are welcome — a great opportunity to begin your travel nursing career in a well-supported, full-service OB unit
• Expected schedule of 4 shifts per week with no on-call obligation anticipated when working a full four-shift week
