Neonatal/ NICU Nurse, Healthcare Nursing
Join a specialized Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) as a travel nurse for a 13-week contract in Los Angeles. This role involves caring for high-risk neonates, including premature infants and surgical cases like gastroschisis and sepsis, with a focus on ventilated and ventilated infants, including nasal CPAP and rare oscillators. You’ll work 12-hour night shifts, providing advanced care to fragile newborns while managing drips such as dopamine, dobutamine, versed, and fentanyl.
A seasoned NICU RN with at least three years of experience, familiar with high-acuity neonatal cases and titrating drips, will find this assignment both challenging and rewarding. The unit boasts a 1:2 or 1:1 nurse-to-patient ratio, with in-house neonatologists and 24-hour RT coverage ensuring top-tier support. Expect to engage with advanced equipment like oscillators, giraffes, incubators, and radiant warmers, and monitor patient strips in a close-knit team dedicated to neonatal high-risk deliveries.
Expect generally mild and pleasant weather, with warm days and cooler evenings typical for this time of year in Los Angeles. The climate offers comfortable outdoor conditions ideal for exploring the city during your time off.
