Under the general supervision of the Executive Chef, the Sous Chef is responsible for the development and implementation of upscale, culturally diverse menus and recipes. The position will be responsible for all production and culinary support necessary for patient care, retail, catering, and special events at Santa Monica Hospital.

• Develop and implement upscale, culturally diverse menus and recipes.
• Provide all production and culinary support for patient care, retail, catering, and special events at Santa Monica Hospital.
• Directly manage production supervisors and oversee all production staff.
• Schedule staff, train in food preparation duties, conduct quality assurance, audits, and portion control.
• Maintain cost control and requisitioning, ensure proper storage of food items.
• Enforce sanitation and safety procedures as per JCAHO, HACCP, and University of California policies.
