[Responsibilities]

• Lead all aspects of bakery operation, to include the customer service, production, cost management, and other training functions
• Create and execute the production of bagels, scones, pies, and wide variety of baked goods
• Manage the operations of the bakery and cultivating a positive and productive work environment
• Take essential responsibility for the business performance of their respective department
• Ensure sales profitability through service excellence and lean operation
• Organize and supervise the employee shifts
• Participate in management and personnel meetings
• Check stock levels and order supplies and materials
• Maintain high standards of quality control, service, hygiene, and health & safety
• Report directly to general manager

[Qualifications]

• Two years progressive experience in bakery preferred
• Culinary School or Training preferred but not required
• Knowledge in operating bakery machinery
• Proven track record of demonstrating abilities in the kitchen from developing and following recipe to paying close attention to additional details to create one-of-a-kind quality breads
• The ability to produce a wide range of breads and pastries
• Extensive knowledge and understanding of fermentation, lamination, proofing and folding techniques
• Experience operating a sheeter, mixer, proofer and industrial baking ovens in addition to all bakery equipment
• Attention to detail and the ability to produce bakery items to exacting specifications in a timely manner
• Flexibility to take direction and innovations with the team
• Spirit of a champion with extensive knowledge of bakery team procedures and policies
• Projects warmth, enthusiasm, honesty, and optimism that attracts and energizes others
• Excellent interpersonal, motivational, team building, communication, and customer relationship skills
• Understanding of basic retail P&L principles, including the specific levers that drive sales and profitability
• Ability to work extended periods of time on your feet and be able to lift 50lbs
• Valid CA food handler’s certification
• Availability to work on weekends
• Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
