Inside Levain Bakery’s Larchmont location, the Porter ensures a clean and safe environment for customers and staff. This role supports daily operations through sanitation, maintenance, and teamwork.

Base pay range: $18.00/hr – $20.00/hr

Competitive triathletes and passionate bakers, Pam Weekes and Connie McDonald left their careers to open a small bread shop in New York City in 1995 — Levain Bakery. They baked a big chocolate‑chip walnut cookie as energy for triathlon training, and the batch flew off the shelves, giving birth to an icon. The shop on West 74th Street became a neighborhood favorite and a destination for cookie lovers from around the world.

Fresh on‑site baking and daily donations to charity began the tradition that continues to this day.

Porters ensure that Levain Bakeries are clean and food preparation areas are sanitized to the highest health code standards. They support overall operations by maintaining a safe environment for customers and staff.

• Show curiosity and compassion by caring for co‑workers and building meaningful connections.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure cleanliness in the store.
• Facilitate open, clear, and timely communication with team members and management.

• Maintain cleanliness in all store areas throughout the shift.
• Sweep floors and sidewalks, mop, and dust as needed.
• Communicate maintenance issues to leaders and management.
• Wash, sanitize, restock dishes, trays, baking tools, and other supplies.
• Follow health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe environment.
• Assist with the setup and breakdown of bakery displays and equipment.
• Clean, sanitize, and maintain anti‑fatigue floor mats.
• Empty trash in bathrooms, workstations, and customer‑facing areas throughout the day.

• Assist in restocking and organizing inventory as per guidelines.
• Assist with receiving and organizing deliveries; ensure proper storage.
• Support the team in daily operations, including light food preparation and packaging as needed.

• Previous custodian or porter experience in F/B or retail preferred.
• Open availability: mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to lift/push up to 50 pounds, including overhead.
• Stand/walk for an 8‑hour shift (excluding a ½ hour break); some locations require stair walking.

• $18–20.25/hr
