As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for safeguarding assets, staff, and visitors around the Century Center Office. Duties include conducting routine patrols, documenting activities and incidents, and potentially assuming leadership roles. You will also enforce policies and laws, adhere to regulatory guidelines, and ensure premises are secure after hours.
Salary range: $23.59 - $30.54 / Hourly
Job Qualifications- Possess and maintain current certification:
Guard Card, Chemical Agent, California driver’s license, and BLS Certification (American Heart Association or Red Cross). - Ability to clearly and concisely communicate ideas using appropriate vocabulary and spelling.
- Willingness and ability to complete required training classes (training provided).
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative relationships with healthcare staff, management, law enforcement, and the community.
- Ability to resolve issues independently within set policies and procedures.
- Ability to utilize available resources to solve problems.
- Proficiency in operating security-related and general office equipment.
- Diplomatic interaction with the public and maintaining a professional appearance.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Understanding the impact of actions on the organization and maintaining good public relations.
- Ability to assess and respond appropriately to emergency situations.
- Knowledge of security policies, procedures, and operational guidelines.
- Familiarity with geographic areas to expedite calls and provide information.
- Knowledge of penal codes and radio communication language.
- Physical ability to handle interventions, including patient restraints and dealing with violent subjects.
- Ability to perform sustained foot patrols, prolonged standing, lifting, and restraining as necessary.
- Good visual and hearing abilities to detect and report unusual circumstances.
- Knowledge of security practices and protocols.
Must hold a valid driver’s license, maintain a compliant driving record, and enroll in the California Employer Pull Notice Program if required.
