The Telecommunications Central Office Lead Installer – Level IV provides detailed installation, re‑configuration, removal, and maintenance of Carrier Central Office equipment—Transmission, Power, Infrastructure, and Fiber systems—under minimum supervision. The role supervises assigned crew members, ensuring project quality, safety, and schedule compliance.
Core Responsibilities- Lead installation projects, performing all duties of a Level 4 Installer with high competence and accuracy.
- Master installation skills for AC/DC Power systems, low/high‑density fiber systems, Central Office Infrastructure, and supervisory/alarm systems.
- Install, configure, and maintain transport equipment (Ciena, Fujitsu, Cisco, Nortel, Nokia, DELL, Juniper, etc.).
- Read and follow Method of Procedures, order specs, floor plans, equipment, and wiring documentation.
- Interface with customers, vendors, and internal teams to complete assigned projects.
- Supervise lower‑level installers/technicians on basic installation and testing requirements.
- Review and approve subordinate time and expense documentation for accuracy and completeness.
- Perform in‑process and final quality audits to meet or exceed industry and customer standards.
- Physically install, remove, or modify equipment according to drawings and engineering documents.
- Install cable trays, racking superstructure, telecom equipment, cabinets, frames, data servers, switches, routers, repeaters, bridges, gateways, multiplexers, transceivers, firewalls, DC power systems, BDFBs, and fuse panels with associated cabling.
- Identify, label, measure, terminate, and route cables supplying AC and/or DC power or transmitting data.
- Power up systems and perform integration activities; validate quality on in‑process and completed work.
- Perform other duties as requested.
- Minimum 8+ years installation experience or equivalent combination of experience and training.
- High school diploma with 2 years technical school or comparable training.
- Proficient laptop computer skills and MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams) skills.
- Valid driver’s license and pre‑employment background check clearance.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Travel required within home region and possibly in the U.S.; international travel is a plus.
- Expenses 100% paid by the employer.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Required to stand, walk, climb ladders, and crawl in tight spaces. Work in OSHA‑compliant conditions.
Compensation & BenefitsBase Pay: $68,000 – $80,000 USD per year.
