What you can expect as an Aircraft Maintenance Technician at West Star

Whether you are replacing or repairing parts, troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, or performing inspections on some of the most sophisticated civilian aircraft in the world, no day is the same. Key Responsibilities
  • Performing general mechanical tasks on aircraft and related systems.
  • Removal and installation of panels and components.
  • Troubleshooting and problem solving aircraft system/component issues.
  • De‑fueling aircraft.
  • Engine removal/installations.
  • Operating ground support equipment.
  • Inspection and evaluation of the aircraft and components.
  • Aircraft movement and assistance in performance runs/taxiing.
  • Maintenance and repair of shop facility, equipment and tooling.
  • Immediately notify the Lead Mechanic of any problem areas such as parts, materials, workmanship, or airworthiness issues.
  • Provide the Lead Mechanic with a detailed report of work progression and open items for shift turnover.
  • Proper tagging of aircraft components, parts, and panels; appropriate storage.
  • Basic computer skills to navigate electronic training, manuals, and maintenance databases.
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts including nights, holidays, weekends and days off.
  • Effective communication (speak, write, read) in English.
  • Any other job‑related duties as assigned by supervisor or management.
Education & Licensure

A high school diploma or equivalent and an Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license are required. A valid driver’s license approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport is ideal.

Additional Responsibilities
  • Attend work every day as scheduled, including overtime and weekend assignments.
  • Notify supervisor in advance if unable to work a shift.
  • Maintain reliable transportation to report to work each day.
  • Perform all work in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration guidelines.
  • Follow all company and safety rules during performance of duties.
  • Maintain customer‑oriented work habits.
