Senior Django Developer

Pen Pals, a social networking app for iOS and Android, is looking for a freelance, expert Django Developer.

Pen Pals connects users all over the world and lets them send text, photo and audio messages to each other. Think "Facebook for strangers." Pen Pals v1.0 has already been featured on the front page of the App Store worldwide. v2.0 of Pen Pals is a complete rebuild of our app from the ground up. You will be architecting and developing a (well-documented) social network, with high-availability and high-scalability.

• Fluency in Python 2.5+ and experience of building or contributing to large Django web applications
• A solid understanding of RESTful web services and experience developing a REST API for iOS, Android and White boxes
• Experience in real-time push
• Experience working on cost-effective, high-availability and highly-scalable systems
• Experience of test-driven development
• Experience developing and tuning PostgreSQL
• Experience working with Git
• Experience of, or interest in, new or emerging platforms such as iOS and Android
