Associate Director of Embedded Software Engineering
Motorola Solutions is seeking a full‑time Associate Director of Embedded Software Engineering to lead a high‑performance engineering team in the development of Silvus Technologies’ advanced MANET radios and other research & development projects. The role reports to the Director of Software Engineering and is based at Silvus headquarters in West Los Angeles, CA with a hybrid schedule of a minimum of three onsite days per week (Mondays‑Wednesdays).

Responsibilities- Lead a team of engineers, ensuring project success and team development.
- Collaborate with the Director of Software Engineering to improve engineering processes, product quality, reliability, and performance.
- Develop device drivers, board support packages, and the software suite for MAC and mobile ad‑hoc networking protocols.
- Create efficient wireless multicast protocols and network management software, including user interfaces.
- Implement audio streaming, push‑to‑talk voice applications, and secure network management features.
- Design and implement security protocols, encryption algorithms, and regulatory compliance (e.g., NIST FIPS 140‑3, NIAP Common Criteria).
- Support customer engagement and provide technical assistance as required.
- 8+ years of embedded system software development experience.
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Strong expertise in C programming and Linux kernel driver development.
- Experience with board support packages and secure boot on AMD Ultra Scale+ MPSoC and/or Microchip Polarfire SoC platforms.
- Proficiency in network configuration and programming.
- U.S. citizenship required due to government contract obligations.
- Experience with security protocols and encryption algorithms (e.g., CNSA suite).
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash and Python.
- Experience with audio codecs and streaming protocols.
- Knowledge of networking protocols such as IPsec, IGMP, SNMP.
- Familiarity with NIST FIPS 140‑3 and NIAP Common Criteria certification processes.
- Experience developing communication systems and networking products.
$200,000 – $250,000 annually (salary varies based on experience and qualifications).
Travel RequirementsUnder 10%.
