Java Tech Lead

The Java Tech Lead will lead the design, development, testing, and maintenance of enterprise Java applications. The role combines hands‑on backend engineering with technical leadership, code quality ownership, mentoring, and delivery coordination. The successful candidate will work closely with business analysts, frontend engineers, QA, Dev Ops, and solution architects to deliver reliable, secure, and maintainable software.

• Lead and guide Java developers through design, implementation, code reviews, testing, and defect resolution.
• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and microservices using Java and Spring Boot.
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs and integrate backend services with frontend applications and external systems.
• Translate functional and technical requirements into solution designs, development tasks, and delivery estimates.
• Apply object‑oriented design principles, SOLID principles, and appropriate design patterns.
• Review code for quality, readability, maintainability, performance, and security; promote consistent engineering standards.
• Troubleshoot complex application issues and perform root‑cause analysis across application and integration layers.
• Improve application performance, scalability, reliability, and observability through sound engineering practices.
• Develop and maintain unit and integration tests and support automated quality checks.
• Collaborate with QA, frontend, Dev Ops, and architecture teams on releases, environments, and technical dependencies.
• Participate in sprint planning, estimation, technical discussions, and delivery reviews.
• Mentor team members and encourage knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.

• Typically 10–12+ years of software development experience, including 3–4+ years in a technical lead or senior engineering role.
• Strong hands‑on experience with Java 17 or later and the Java ecosystem.
• Practical experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA, Spring Security, and Hibernate/JPA.
• Strong understanding of microservices architecture, REST APIs, service integration, and distributed application design.
• Solid knowledge of object‑oriented programming, SOLID principles, common design patterns, and clean‑code practices.
• Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, or Microsoft SQL Server; able to write and tune SQL.
• Experience with build and source‑control tools such as Maven or Gradle and Git.
• Experience writing automated tests using tools such as JUnit and Mockito.
• Familiarity with code quality and static analysis tools such as Sonar Qube or Checkstyle.
• Knowledge of application security, logging, debugging, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
• Strong communication, technical decision‑making, mentoring, and team collaboration skills.

• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Exposure to cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or AWS.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment practices.
• Experience with messaging technologies such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum delivery teams.
