Position supports our men’s basketball league as stats and scorekeeper and staff liaison, and our youth sports programs like basketball and soccer. The ideal candidate understands basketball and soccer, has experience teaching different sports, mentors young children, and can adapt on the fly. This is a part-time non-exempt position.
Responsibilities- Facilitate team basketball practices and youth clinics.
- Coach teams in games.
- Assist in setup of multiple different sports programs.
- Serve as stats and scorekeeper for the men’s basketball league.
- Develop sound professional relationships with children and parents.
- Collaborate as a member of the sports staff.
- 1-2 years of basketball playing experience (preferred).
- 1-2 years of coaching experience (preferred).
- 1-2 years of soccer playing experience.
- Prior experience in working with children and their families.
- Exceptional skill and capacity for engagement and relationship building with both children and adults.
- Proven ability to plan, originate and organize practices.
- Be a leader, self-starter, and strong collaborator.
- Ability to accept guidance, constructive feedback, and support.

About the OrganizationThe J Los Angeles (formerly the Westside Jewish Community Center) has been serving the Los Angeles community for almost 70 years. We host a variety of programs for the community, including an early childhood center, basketball leagues and classes, swim lessons, summer and winter day camp, fitness classes, family holiday programs, teen leadership and Israel programs, and senior wellness and adult programs.
