As the West Coast Senior Logistics Manager, you will lead the end-to-end logistics operations to ensure efficient planning, transportation, and distribution of goods. You will drive strategic initiatives to streamline supply chain processes, optimize cost efficiency, and deliver superior service across internal and external networks. This role requires a high level of leadership, analytical insight, and cross-functional coordination.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute logistics strategies that align with organizational goals and customer expectations
- Oversee transportation, warehousing, and inventory management activities across all channels
- Lead logistics staff and foster continuous improvement and professional development
- Analyze logistics metrics and KPIs to drive cost-effective and timely operations
- Negotiate contracts with carriers, third-party logistics providers, and suppliers
- Ensure regulatory compliance in shipping, handling, and safety standards
- Collaborate with internal departments—Procurement, Sales, Finance—for seamless supply chain execution
- Identify risk factors in logistics operations and lead mitigation plans
- Implement and upgrade logistics technology (TMS) and systems, where applicable
- Advanced Logistics Planning:
Expertise in route optimization, freight consolidation, and demand forecasting - ERP & WMS Systems:
Deep experience with SAP, Oracle, JDA, or similar platforms for managing logistics and inventory - Vendor & Contract Negotiation:
Skilled in securing cost-effective contracts with freight carriers and 3PL providers - Regulatory Compliance:
Knowledge of domestic and international shipping regulations, including DOT, IATA, and customs documentation - Team Leadership:
Strong people management skills for leading logistics teams across multiple locations - Crisis Management:
Aptitude for resolving disruptions in supply chains due to weather, geopolitical shifts, or operational failures - Communication
Skills:
Clear and effective communicator across departments, levels of leadership, and with external partners
