Summary

Operate Niro Evaporator and Dryer, all related equipment, and lactose finisher in a safe, sanitary manner. Operations include processing of milk and lactose to company standards, cleanup of all related equipment, completion of all necessary records and paperwork. Support and enforce SQF / QA, GMP, Safety policies and procedures, and production needs. “Food Safety and Quality” are the responsibilities of this position.

Essential Functions

  • Operate and CIP evaporators and dryer, separators, and lactose finisher to company standards.
  • Take hourly readings on evaporator status, temperatures, vacuum, and solids, flow rates and log.
  • Monitor chemical strengths and note on log.
  • Keep all gaskets, clamps, pipe jumpers, etc., in your work area in sanitizing solution.
  • Maintain the sanitizing floor foam at processing room entrances.
  • Service evaporator pumps and valves as scheduled.
  • Follow all the departmental proper established procedures, all instructions given by foreperson/supervisor and maintain a clean and safe work area.
  • Follow all safety and work rules, and work in a sanitary manner.
  • Take lunch break in a correct amount of time.
  • Responsible for training new hires.
  • Complete all paperwork neatly and correctly.
  • Must notify supervisor in the event that standards are not met.
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean, orderly, and neat work area.
  • Assist with break and lunch relief as needed.
  • Responsible for all work being done in a timely fashion and done properly.
  • Follow all company Policies, such as but not limited to:
    Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Safe Quality Foods (SQF), and Safety Rules and procedures.
  • Must have the ability to get along with co-workers, management personnel, customers, vendors, and employees in accordance with the company policies and working rules while ensuring a harmonious and conducive work environment.
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance at work.
  • Complete all paperwork neatly and correctly.
  • Responsible for keeping all floors, walls, machines, and pipes clean.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Education and/or Experience

  • Proficient in verbal and written communication skills;
    Basic computation skills; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • High School diploma or GED desirable.
  • Has demonstrated the ability to run equipment efficiently.
  • Must have the ability to read and understand written and/or verbal instructions.
  • Must be able to operate the equipment effectively after the appropriate break-in period.
  • Has a current forklift operator’s license or the ability to acquire and maintain required certification.

Language Skills

A well-modulated tonal volume is required with excellent diction skills needed.

Reasoning Ability
