Scheduled Bi-Weekly Hours 80
Work Shift Day: 8 hours
The Certified Medical Assistant is responsible for assisting in the coordination and support of the physicians and/or other medical teams in the Cancer Center. This includes rooming patients and obtaining vital signs, basic screening and collecting information for medication reconciliation, assisting with procedures, scheduling, calling offices and acquiring records, chart prep, and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications- High School or equivalent.
- Completion of Accredited Medical Assistant Program or documentation of training.
- Current clinical experience in ambulatory care as a Certified Medical Assistant is strongly preferred but not required.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Computer skills including word document, email etiquette and use of EPIC preferred.
- Certified Medical Assistant – Graduated from a Medical Assistant Program with Certificate. Within 1 year (or as soon as eligible) will take certification exam from National Health Career Association (AAMA)
- Certified Medical Assistant – California Certifying Board for Medical Assistants (CMAA), or American Medical Technologists (AMT), National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) or National Allied Health and pass the exam.
- Basic Lifesaving Certification – American Heart Association
$36.74 – $46.45 USD Hourly
Physical Requirements and Working ConditionsLight Work – Walking or standing up to 49% of shift, duties require standard movement, may occasionally lift up to 20 lbs. – (Physical Requirements-United States of America)
