TPT - Computer Science (FA25-SU26) Position Summary

The UNM-Valencia Campus seeks candidates for temporary, part‑time faculty to teach 1000‑2000 Level Computer Science (programming) courses. If online teaching is needed, documented accepted training and/or in‑house training would be required. Positions are contingent upon the need of each semester as determined by student enrollment levels and current course offerings. This is a continuous recruitment beginning in the Fall 2025 semester.

Located about 30 miles south of Albuquerque in rural Valencia County, the University of New Mexico‑Valencia Campus is a two‑year branch campus of the University of New Mexico, which functions as a community college in the region and is designated a Hispanic‑Serving Institution. With an emphasis on teaching excellence, Valencia Campus offers academic transfer programs, technical programs, Adult Education, and Dual Credit courses to high schools in Valencia and Socorro Counties.

• Master’s degree in Computer Science or Master’s degree in Applied Mathematics or a related field and 18 graduate credit hours in Computer Science.
• Two years of experience teaching or tutoring Computer Science (programming).

• Ph.D., ABD, or EdD in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or a related field.
• At least one year of successful teaching experience at a community college.
• Documented training to teach online courses.
• A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, student success, and working with broadly diverse communities.
