Senior Bookkeeper - Growing Independent Practice Milton Keynes (Hybrid)£35,000 - £40,000 DOE Butler Rose Public Practice is pleased to be supporting a growing, independent accountancy practice in Milton Keynes, as they look to recruit a Senior Bookkeeper to join their friendly and collaborative team. This role would suit an experienced practice-based bookkeeper who enjoys managing a varied client portfolio, maintaining strong client relationships, and supporting the development of junior team members.

You'll play a key role in the day-to-day delivery of bookkeeping services while benefiting from flexible working and clear opportunities for progression.

Key Responsibilities Manage a varied portfolio of bookkeeping clients Complete balance sheet reconciliations including bank, VAT, payroll, CIS, loans, and intercompany accounts Process bills, expenses, supplier payments, and credit control Prepare and review VAT returns Support year-end accounts preparation Facilitate and support software integrations Act as a main point of contact for clients, handling queries and requests Review work completed by junior team members Assist with training and development of junior staff Key Requirements AAT Level 4 desirable Minimum 5 years' bookkeeping experience, ideally within an accountancy practice Strong VAT knowledge with confidence preparing and reviewing returns Experience managing multiple clients and deadlines Proficiency in Xero (essential);
