Position: Accountant – Senior / Assistant Manager Level

Job Description:

A well-established, independent accountancy firm based in Loughborough is looking to recruit for a new job opportunity. The firm is seeking to hire an Accountant and is flexible regarding the level of appointment. They are open to considering applications from a Senior level through to Assistant manager grade.

The level of the role and salary is flexible within reason, as duties and responsibilities can be adjusted to suit the successful candidate’s experience and career ambitions.

Due to the office location, the firm is within a commutable distance of Nottingham, Melton Mowbray, Leicester, Loughborough, Castle Donnington, Coalville, Ashby‑De‑La‑Zouch, and surrounding villages.

You will play a vital role in the preparation and possibly review of accounts, VAT, payroll, bookkeeping, and tax services for a diverse portfolio of clients. You will be joining a dynamic and supportive team, with the opportunity to grow and develop your skills in a collaborative environment.

Dependent on your experience and preferences, there could be more or less review and management work included in the job.

Experience with software including Sage, Xero, Quick Books, is desirable.

Ideally this role is suited to someone qualified or qualified by experience, but the firm will welcome those that are also part‑qualified.

Main

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Preparation of financial statements and accounts for a variety of clients.
  • Bookkeeping tasks, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records for clients.
  • Handling tax compliance, including preparation of personal and business tax returns.
  • Liaising directly with clients to ensure timely delivery of services and addressing their needs.
  • Support in the preparation of management accounts and other ad hoc tasks as required.
