Are you an experienced Accounts Assistant looking for a varied role where you can get involved in all aspects of day-to-day accounts?
We're recruiting on behalf of an established manufacturing business in Loughborough that's looking for an organised and proactive Accounts Assistant to join its finance team.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys a busy, hands-on role, with responsibilities covering purchase ledger, sales ledger, credit control and general finance administration.
The Role
Working closely with the Financial Controller, you'll play an important part in ensuring the smooth running of the finance function.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Processing sales invoices and ensuring supporting documentation is accurate.
* Managing credit control, chasing outstanding payments and monitoring aged debt.
* Allocating customer payments and resolving account queries.
* Processing purchase invoices and matching them against purchase orders.
* Liaising with suppliers to resolve invoice discrepancies and queries.
* Reconciling supplier statements and assisting with payment runs.
* Setting up and maintaining customer and supplier accounts.
* Processing petty cash and company credit card expenses.
* Supporting the Financial Controller with month-end activities.
* Assisting with general finance administration and maintaining accurate records.
About You
We're looking for someone with previous experience working within an accounts or finance department who is comfortable managing a variety of tasks.
Ideally, you'll have:
* Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant, Finance Assistant or similar role.
* Experience with purchase ledger and/or sales ledger.
* A good understanding of basic bookkeeping principles.
* Experience using accounting software.
* Good Excel and general Microsoft Office skills.
* Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
* A confident and professional telephone manner.
* The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Experience with Sage 50, credit control or working within a manufacturing environment would be advantageous, although not essential.
An AAT qualification, or studying towards one, would also be welcomed.
