Position: Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner
Location: Mountsorrel

Join our Therapy Team to help empower students with the skills they need to thrive in education and beyond - supporting them to build positive behaviours, meaningful relationships and access to work or further learning opportunities.

Start Date: ASAP

Contract: 37 hours per week / 52 weeks per year

To work within the Therapy Team to provide a wrap‑around service of support that enables students to access education and acquire the most important skills that they need for their future lives. Gaining behavioural skills that will enable them to live inclusively in society, develop and maintain meaningful relationships and be able to access day activities, for example work and/or further learning.

  • Undertake functional behaviour assessments and assist the behaviour specialist with the complex assessments required.
  • Develop and contribute to the development of intervention plans with a focus on skill development.
  • Work with students and staff to develop interventions that are shared (with consent) with the students’ families/carers and groups.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of behavioural interventions in order to evidence progress reports and summaries.
  • Provide advice, education, information and training to students, staff, families, carers, on best practice behavioural interventions.
  • Support colleagues through coaching and training to develop their own practice.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of the highest professional standards of practice, through active participation in internal and external CPD training and development programmes.
  • Work alongside the Behaviour Specialist to implement advanced behavioural strategies.
  • Update student records.
  • Attend and contribute to multi‑disciplinary meetings as requested.
  • Work with various staff teams to ensure maximum positive impact.
  • Liaise with other parties such as social worker, parents, outreach, psychiatrists etc.
  • Contribute positively to a high quality care, teaching and learning environment.
  • Analyse individual data to inform decision making and targeted intervention
