Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Job Overview

Be a Mechanical Plant Fitter in Saint‑Gobain’s East Leake manufacturing plant, Leicestershire. You will execute mechanical engineering activities on site, keeping production running to meet delivery commitments.

• Plan and execute root‑cause analysis to prevent recurring maintenance issues.
• Perform autonomous maintenance tasks.
• Liaise with contractors and shift electricians on projects.
• Use the CMMS system (INFOR EAM) to schedule work, submit job reports and order spares.
• Carry out reactive and planned engineering work on equipment such as grinding mills, blow pots, forming and conveying belts, screw conveyors, and other plant machinery.

• Mechanical engineer with production or manufacturing experience.
• Minimum NVQ Level III qualification in a mechanical engineering discipline.
• Apprentice‑trained mechanical engineer.
• Continuous‑improvement mindset.
• Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.
• Health and safety focus – safety is paramount.
• Proficiency with CMMS systems and Microsoft Office, with the ability to learn other software.
