Interim Maintenance Engineering Supervisor3-Month Contract £400 per day Outside IR35
We are currently recruiting for an experienced
Maintenance Engineering Supervisor to join a busy heavy manufacturing operation on an initial3-month interim contract.
This is a hands-on, on-the-tools supervisory position. You will lead the maintenance team while remaining actively involved in fault finding, repairs, preventative maintenance and day-to-day engineering activities across the site.
The RoleKey responsibilities include:
- Supervising and supporting a team of maintenance engineers/technicians.
- Carrying out hands-on electrical and/or mechanical maintenance.
- Diagnosing and rectifying equipment faults and breakdowns.
- Coordinating planned, preventative and reactive maintenance.
- Prioritising engineering work to minimise production downtime.
- Working closely with Production to maintain plant availability.
- Providing technical support and guidance to the maintenance team.
- Ensuring maintenance activities are completed safely and to a high standard.
- Supporting continuous improvement and equipment reliability initiatives.
- Managing day-to-day engineering priorities and allocating work across the team.
- Ensuring relevant maintenance records and systems are maintained.
We are looking for a genuinely experienced maintenance engineer who has progressed into a supervisory/team leadership position.
You will ideally have:
- A recognised
Level 3 apprenticeship or higherin
Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related maintenance discipline. - Significant experience working in aheavy manufacturing, industrial or similarly demanding engineering environment.
- Proven maintenance engineering experience across either electrical or mechanical disciplines.
- Previous experience supervising, leading or coordinating a maintenance team.
- Strong fault-finding and breakdown response experience.
- A practical,hands-on on the tools approach.
- The ability to work effectively under pressure in a production environment.
- A strong understanding of engineering Health & Safety requirements.
- Excellent communication and team leadership skills.
