AAT Qualified Accountant – Leicester (Office‑Based)

Alexander Daniels are recruiting for an AAT-qualified Accountant on behalf of a well-established distribution business in Loughborough on a full-time, permanent basis.

The Role

We’re looking for an experienced AAT-qualified Accountant to take on a broad and interesting position within the finance team. This is an ideal role for someone who thrives on ownership, accuracy, and getting stuck into everything from month‑end reporting to import financials.

If you’re methodical, detail-focused, and confident juggling deadlines with ease, you’ll fit right in.

Key Responsibilities

You’ll be hands‑on with a wide range of duties, including:

  • Month‑end reporting and producing first‑draft management accounts
  • Accounts payable & receivable
  • Managing the financial aspects of imports (Far East & EU)
  • Ensuring VAT and Duty are correctly accounted for
  • Cash receipts and cashflow
  • Budgeting and forecasting
  • Revenue & expenditure variance analysis
  • Account reconciliations
  • Fixed asset activity
  • Debt activity
  • Ad‑hoc finance tasks
  • Conducting credit checks on new customers
  • Team management and supporting continuous process improvement
  • Liaising with operations as needed
What We’re Looking For
  • AAT-qualified (completed)
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a busy finance department
  • Excellent computer and communication skills
  • Strong organisational ability and impeccable attention to detail
  • Confident working under pressure and managing deadlines
  • Experience in team management
  • Understanding of import/export finance processes
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively
