VH Talent is excited to be supporting our client, a global engineering organisation to appointment an experienced Financial Controller. This is a key role within the Finance Team, providing strong financial leadership, oversight and commercial insight across the site.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the integrity and accuracy of financial reporting, leading the month-end close process, maintaining robust financial controls and supporting the wider business with meaningful analysis and financial insight. You’ll work closely with operational and senior leadership teams, providing clear financial information to support effective decision-making and business performance.

• Take ownership of the site finance function, ensuring accurate, timely and compliant financial reporting. Lead the monthly, quarterly and annual close processes, ensuring all reporting is completed accurately and within divisional, group and corporate deadlines.
• Review and analyse financial performance, providing clear insight into key trends, risks, opportunities and variances. Prepare and deliver monthly management accounts, P&L reviews, balance sheet analysis, bridge analysis and wider management reporting.
• Lead the budgeting and rolling forecasting processes, working closely with operational stakeholders to develop robust financial plans and forecasts. Provide financial analysis and modelling to support business planning, investment decisions and operational performance.
• Ensure the integrity of the general ledger, including review of journals, accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, depreciation and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Maintain and continuously improve the site’s financial control environment, ensuring compliance with company policies, SOX requirements and relevant accounting standards. Ensure compliance with applicable accounting frameworks and regulatory requirements, including US GAAP, IFRS and relevant UK statutory requirements.
• Partner closely with operational and senior management teams, providing financial guidance and challenging performance where appropriate.
• Monitor and analyse key financial and operational drivers, including sales, costs, margins, working capital and other relevant KPIs. Oversee and support inter-company accounting processes, ensuring transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled.
• Lead and support internal and external audit activity, ensuring appropriate documentation and evidence is maintained.
• Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, controls, reporting and systems, driving greater efficiency and accuracy across the finance function. Provide leadership, guidance and support to members of the wider Finance Team, helping to develop capability and maintain high standards.
• Deliver weekly flash reporting, WIN scorecard reporting and other divisional and group reporting requirements. Provide ad-hoc financial and commercial analysis to support business priorities and strategic decision-making.

• ACCA / CIMA / ACA qualified, or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
