Role:
Buyer
Duration: 6 month contract
Pay:
Up to £25 p/hr (Inside IR35)

Working Pattern:
Fully onsite (40hrs - Early finish Friday)
In this role you will manage MRP recommendations, raise purchase orders, monitor supplier commitments and proactively expedite deliveries to minimise supply chain disruption.
Key Responsibilities:
Running MRP requirements and converting recommendations into purchase orders
Raising, managing and expediting purchase orders to support production demands
Chasing supplier deliveries and maintaining accurate supplier commitment dates
Managing supply shortages, delays and escalations to ensure continuity of supply
Building strong supplier relationships through regular phone and email communication
Supporting purchasing requirements across Production, Engineering, R&D and Service functions
Maintaining accurate ERP data including lead times and supplier information
Assisting with supplier performance monitoring and continuous improvement activities
Supporting inbound shipments and logistics activities where required
Contributing to reporting, planning and supply chain process improvement initiatives
You'll become a key link between suppliers and internal teams including Production, Engineering, R&D, Service, Finance and Logistics, helping ensure complex manufacturing projects stay on track.
With some Bills of Materials containing up to 1,000 components, this is a role for someone who enjoys variety, attention to detail and taking ownership.
Key Requirements:
Experience with in a manufacturing or similar fast paced environment
Strong supplier management and expediting skills
Experience managing Bills of Materials and material requirements
Logistics, shipping or export experience (commercial invoices or shipping documentation)
Exposure to new product introduction (NPI) projects
Experience using ERP systems (IFS experience would be highly advantageous)
Excellent communication skills and confidence dealing directly with suppliers
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Good Excel and reporting capabilities
