Mechanical Maintenance Fitter

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Mechanical Maintenance Fitter – Night Shift to join our dynamic maintenance team at Mountsorrel Quarry, near Loughborough, Leicestershire. This position is ideal for those commuting from Loughborough, Leicester, Melton Mowbray, and surrounding areas.

• Respond to plant breakdowns, ensuring timely and efficient repairs while adhering to safety and maintenance standards.
• Implement permanent solutions for any temporary fixes.
• Drive improvements in plant performance, maintenance, and asset reliability.
• Contribute to the development of our Computer Maintenance Management System.
• Maintain safety-related documentation and participate in root‑cause analysis to prevent repeat failures.

• Proven experience in a similar mechanical maintenance fitting role, including fabricating and welding.
• Knowledgeable in maintenance practices; experience with hydraulics and pneumatics is a plus.
• Apprentice trained at Level3, or possesses ONC/NVQ Level3 in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Familiar with TPM methodology, continuous improvement, and predictive maintenance.
• Experienced in using Computer Maintenance Management Systems and skilled in root‑cause analysis.
• Self‑motivated, enthusiastic, and able to work with minimal supervision.

Weeks1 & 2:
Monday to Thursday, 19:30 – 06:00
Weeks3 & 4:
Tuesday to Thursday, 19:30 – 06:00;
Friday, 19:30 – 04:30
