We are seeking a dependable and proactive Maintenance Officer to join our team. This hands‑on role is responsible for ensuring that buildings, facilities, and grounds are maintained to a safe, secure, and high standard. The successful candidate will undertake a variety of maintenance tasks, support health and safety compliance, and contribute to providing a safe and welcoming environment for staff, visitors, and service users.
Key Responsibilities- Carry out general maintenance, repairs, and improvements across the site.
- Conduct routine inspections of buildings, grounds, and equipment, identifying and resolving maintenance issues.
- Complete minor plumbing, carpentry, decorating, and basic repair works.
- Ensure the security, cleanliness, and upkeep of the premises and external areas.
- Assist with statutory compliance checks and health and safety inspections.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and report significant issues.
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with health and safety regulations and organisational policies.
- Previous experience in a maintenance, facilities, caretaking, estates, or similar role.
- Good practical skills across a range of maintenance disciplines.
- Knowledge of health and safety requirements relevant to building maintenance.
- Ability to work independently and prioritise workloads effectively.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Enhanced DBS check
- Relevant trade, maintenance, or facilities qualifications.
- Experience working within schools, colleges, healthcare, housing, or public sector environments
