Assembly Operative | Shepshed, Leicestershire

£14.00-£18.00 per hour | Temporary - initially 4-6 weeks

Monday to Friday | 8:00am-4:30pm | ASAP Start

The Role

We are looking for a practical, hands‑on Assembly Operative to join a busy production team in Shepshed, Leicestershire.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in assembly, fabrication or workshop‑based work who is confident using hand tools, power tools and workshop machinery. The role is initially for 4-6 weeks to support a busy period, although there is potential for ongoing agency work for the right person.

You will be helping to manufacture and assemble aluminium products used within the working‑at‑height and safety industry, including guardrails, gantry ladders, access equipment and safety system components.

Responsibilities

As an Assembly Operative, your duties will include:

  • Cutting and preparing aluminium components
  • Drilling holes accurately into aluminium plates and sections
  • Operating pillar drills and workshop saws
  • Using hand tools, drills, spanners and other power tools
  • Assembling aluminium safety and access products
  • Following measurements, drawings and production instructions
  • Carrying out general fabrication and assembly work
  • Checking finished components for quality and accuracy
  • Keeping the workshop and work area clean and organised
  • Working closely with the wider production team to meet deadlines
Requirements

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has previous assembly, fabrication, manufacturing or workshop experience
  • Is confident using hand and power tools
  • Has experience using drills, pillar drills, saws or similar workshop machinery
  • Is practically minded and comfortable working with measurements
  • Can work accurately and safely without constant supervision

    Has a good attitude and is reliable
  • Is comfortable carrying out repetitive, hands‑on production work
  • Can travel reliably to Shepshed for an 8:00am start

No welding experience is required for this position. Product‑specific training will be provided.
