Location: Shepshed

Assembly Team Leader | Shepshed, Leicestershire | £25,000-£30,000 per annum

Permanent | Monday to Friday | Typically 8:00am-4:30pm

The Role

We are recruiting for an experienced Assembly Team Leader to join a well-established manufacturing business in Shepshed.

This is a hands-on leadership role, with around 60-70% of your time spent working alongside the production team and the remainder focused on team coordination, quality, stock control and production organisation.

You will support the Head of Production and help ensure the workshop runs safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.

Responsibilities
  • Work hands-on with the team assembling aluminium safety and access products
  • Cut, drill, prepare and assemble aluminium components
  • Use workshop machinery, hand tools and power tools
  • Provide daily direction and support to production operatives
  • Allocate and prioritise work to meet production deadlines
  • Support and cover the Head of Production when required
  • Check completed work for quality and accuracy
  • Process incoming and outgoing goods accurately
  • Update stock movements, photographs and delivery information on Odoo
  • Maintain accurate production and stock records
  • Support the induction and development of new team members
  • Maintain a clean, organised and safe workshop environment
Requirements

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Previous assembly, fabrication, manufacturing or workshop experience
  • Confidence using drills, pillar drills, saws, hand tools and power tools
  • Team leader, supervisor or senior operative experience
  • A practical, hands-on approach to leadership
  • Strong organisation and attention to detail
  • Good communication skills
  • Confidence using or learning computer-based systems
  • A dependable and punctual approach to work
  • The ability to adapt to changing production priorities

Previous Odoo experience is not essential, as full training will be provided.
