The Role You will take responsibility for developing and growing the company's customer base, identifying new commercial opportunities and strengthening relationships with existing customers. The role will involve a mixture of new business development, account management and commercial strategy, with the freedom to develop your own approach to generating growth. A key part of the role will be developing freight opportunities, particularly around movements into and out of Ireland, so strong knowledge of the Irish freight market and associated logistics requirements is highly desirable.
You will be expected to spend time in front of customers and prospects across the UK, meaning national travel will be an important part of the position.
Key Responsibilities Develop and execute a proactive sales strategy to generate new business. Identify and target prospective customers across the UK. Develop strong, long-term relationships with customers and key decision-makers. Grow revenue and profitability through new business and existing accounts. Identify opportunities across freight, logistics and transport services. Develop business opportunities involving freight movements into Ireland. Prepare and present commercial proposals and negotiate pricing and terms. Maintain a strong pipeline of opportunities and provide accurate sales forecasting. Work closely with the operational team to ensure customer requirements can be delivered effectively. Monitor market developments, customer requirements and competitor activity. Represent the business professionally at customer meetings, industry events and networking opportunities. Take ownership of the commercial function and help shape the company's wider sales strategy.
About You The successful candidate is likely to be an experienced Sales Manager, Business Development Manager, Commercial Manager or Senior Sales professional from within the freight, logistics or transport sector. You will ideally have:
