Position: Performance & Events Student Fixed Term Placement

UK Athletics Performance & Events Student Placement

35 hours per week. A flexible approach to work time is required on occasions including evening and weekend working. All-hour contract.

£1,000 per month stipend.

Reasonable travel expenses away from post location will be pre agreed and reimbursed.

National Performance Institute – Loughborough (Performance Base) / Alexander Stadium, Birmingham (UKA Events Team Base)

Some homeworking as part of the weekly schedule may be agreed.

Placement Description

The successful candidate will embark upon a 12-month placement offering the chance to be immersed in a high-performance sport environment, gaining invaluable insight and practical experience that complements an undergraduate degree in a relevant sports‑related field.

Typical Duties Performance Department
  • World Class Programme onboarding of athlete and WCP management – admin support.
  • Championships and camps planning administration ahead of selected championships.
UKA Events
  • Assist with the planning of competitions and events.
  • Support event logistics, including venue preparation, accreditation, and scheduling.
Required Experience
  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree or equivalent in Sports Management, Sports Events, Sport Science, Coaching, Sport Marketing, or related sports field.
  • Eligible to undertake a placement year as part of your course.
  • Maths and English minimum GCSE Grade 6.
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings/weekends at events or competitions.
